FIELD NOTE 01 / GETTING STARTED

Queen's Domain Demo Guide: Your First Hour

QUICK ANSWER

Where should you start in the demo?

Start by talking to the soldier, equipping your sword, and breaking the wooden barricade with deliberate attacks. Let the yellow power meter refill between swings. Then explore the opening area and its dungeon for the shrine key. The free Steam demo is designed to take around one hour.

New save, with access to the starting soldier.

How do you leave the starting camp?

Players report different hit counts for the barricade. Use the attack meter and the obstacle’s response rather than following a fixed number of swings.

  1. Talk to the soldier, receive the sword, and equip it.
  2. Read the Equipment and Melee Weapons entries in the in-game guide.
  3. Face the wooden barricade, let the yellow meter refill, then attack.
  4. Repeat deliberate swings until it breaks. The locked doors and beach gap are not your first route.

How do normal attacks, charges, and specials differ?

Practice these separately at the barricade before a fight adds pressure. Check your own key or controller bindings in the game.

ActionWhat to do
Normal swingLet the yellow power meter refill between attacks.
Charged attackHold the attack control; demo players describe a blue charge indication.
Weapon specialUse the weapon’s special-attack control. Its motion differs from a held normal attack.

What is the main progression?

The developer estimates around one hour for the demo. After the ending, players report loading their save to continue exploring. For optional completion, use the focused guides below instead of treating a sword-jump route as mandatory.
